The Red Fox by Brian Paterson is from the story Foxwood Tales

As they entered the shed, they could hardly believe their eyes. They were looking at the most beautiful train they had ever seen. "Do you like her?" asked Uncle Henry proudly. "She's the Red Fox, my real discovery. She was Foxwood's train years ago."

This is one of a number of paintings Brian Paterson produced for his book series about the village of Foxwood featuring Harvey Mouse, Willy the Hedgehog and Rue Rabbit. Living in Henley on Thames Brain painted whilst his wife Cynthia wrote and together they conceived eight Foxwood books which have become modern classics. This image appeared in The Foxwood Kidnap by Cynthia Paterson, Brian Paterson.
